Carlos Llorente has participated in the EALG meeting held in Cyprus on 28 October 2022. This Group (www.ealg.com) is made up of almost thirty law firms established around the world and constitutes one of the most veteran international law firm networks in the legal sector. Carlos Llorente is presently Co-Chairman of the EALG and has been member of the Group for more than ten years.
In Cyprus, the meeting evolved around topics such as the challenges for the Group in an era of inexorable changes in the legal services sector and the implementation of new business development policies. Also, as usual, topics of professional interest linked to the network member’s international legal practices were addressed.
In particular, Carlos Llorente offered a presentation titled “A Post-Brexit Look from the EU Perspective at International Commercial Litigation Involving UK-Based Parties”, where he described the present legal framework applicable to international jurisdiction and applicable law issues in international commercial disputes where one of the parties is UK-based.
